Indoor/Alfresco cushions are simply defined by cushions that are not exposed directly to the elements. If a setting is on a patio or verandah, but is well protected from direct sunlight and rain, these would be considered indoor/alfresco cushions. You can use outdoor fabrics for indoor/alfresco settings, but not the other way round!

We strongly advise our customers to use only outdoor fabrics if their cushions will be subjected to direct sunlight and/ or rain. Some fabrics are advertised as 'outdoor', but we know that many of these don't stand the test of time in our harsh Australian conditions. We have carefully selected the range of fabrics that we know are genuine outdoor fabrics. These tend to be more expensive, but are mostly solution dyed acrylics that are fully washable and can even be bleached.
